MI Bridges

Get The Benefits You Need Online – Not In Line.

MI Bridges is a web portal for clients and community partners to access DHS programs, including: Food Assistance (FAP, SNAP, EBT), State Emergency Relief (SER) for energy and non-energy related needs (burial assistance, relocation assistance), Medical Assistance (Medicaid, MI Child), Child Development Care (CDC, licensed and unlicensed daycare), and Cash Assistance (FIP, SDA, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families).


The MI Bridges Self-Application System provides secure access to Michigan Department of Human Services benefit applications on the internet 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The following functionality is available to the public on MI Bridges:

  • Michigan Residents can apply for:
    • Cash Assistance
    • Child Development and Care
    • Food Assistance
    • Medical Assistance
    • State Emergency Relief
  • Benefit Recipients can report changes for the following programs:
    • Cash Assistance
    • Child Development and Care
    • Food Assistance
    • Medical Assistance
  • Case owners (Heads of Households) are able to:
    • View their benefit status online
    • Grant case viewing permissions online to any case member
  • Recipients of benefits are able to:
    • View correspondence from MDHS electronically
    • Receive e-mail and/or text message notifications when new correspondence is generated.
    • View benefit status from the two previous months, the current month, and the future month.
  • Recipients can easily upload documents needed for verifications, including information needed for
    • Annual redeterminations
    • Semi-annual redeterminations
    • Mid-certification redeterminations
